Los Angeles World Affairs Council Announces Election of Richard Azarloza to Board of Directors
The Los Angeles World Affairs Council announces the election of Richard Azarloza to its Board of Directors. With more than 30 years of experience in investment management and financial planning, Azarloza brings deep expertise in helping families, foundations, and nonprofit organizations navigate long-term financial strategy and growth.

Azarloza is a Partner and Los Angeles Practice Leader at Cerity Partners, where he advises clients on investment management, estate and retirement planning, tax strategy, and broader wealth planning. In addition to leading the firm’s Los Angeles office, he works closely with clients to help them manage complex financial decisions and build long-term plans across generations.
Prior to joining Cerity Partners, Azarloza served as Chief Executive Officer of Covington Capital Management. Earlier in his career, he held leadership and portfolio management roles at Brown Brothers Harriman, U.S. Trust, Bank of America Capital Management, and Security Pacific Investment Management.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from UCLA and an MBA in Finance from California State University, Northridge. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and a certified financial planner. In 2021, he was recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of the city’s Most Influential Wealth Managers.
A longtime member of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, Azarloza is also active in civic and community organizations throughout Los Angeles. He previously served as Treasurer of the FBI Los Angeles Citizens Academy Alumni Association. Of Cuban descent and fluent in Spanish, he brings an international perspective shaped by both his personal background and professional experience.
