Los Angeles World Affairs Council Condemns Violence Following Death of Charlie Kirk
Organization reaffirms commitment to civil discourse and peaceful public dialogue
LOS ANGELES CA – September 11, 2025 – The Los Angeles World Affairs Council today issued the following statement regarding the tragic death of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University:
"The Los Angeles World Affairs Council is deeply saddened by the news of Charlie Kirk's death following a politically motivated shooting yesterday at Utah Valley University.
Violence in any form, but especially violence of this nature, has no place in our society. The ability to speak, assemble, and engage publicly without fear is fundamental to a healthy democracy.
As our council is committed to civil discourse and global understanding, we condemn political violence in all forms and reaffirm the importance of protecting spaces for public dialogue.
Our thoughts are with Mr. Kirk's family and everyone impacted by this tragedy."
