Requirements
-
Interns must be
undergraduates.

Commit to
10-14
hours weekly and attend as many events as possible.

Because of the
nature of the Council’s guests, all interns must be well groomed and
personable.

Because of the
flexibility in Council programming times and student’s schedules,
interns may share each other’s duties as business needs require.

As well as hearing
influential people in world affairs first-hand, interns will gain
valuable insight into etiquette and organization of such events.

Interns continuing
their education after their internship can apply for
the
Isis-Momoko Intern Scholarship.

2008 Isis-Momoko Intern Scholarship
are now being accepted.
Council interns
are eligible to apply for the Isis-Momoko scholarship, a one time $500
award is given each fall.

The Council typically has three undergraduate internship positions available for Spring, Summer and Fall
each year. Intern duties can include anything described below. |
|
Events / Membership |
|
Help
in maintaining the Council’s membership records with new memberships and
renewals. At events, assist at the ticket table and seating
attendees. This intern will need to be good at face-to-face
interaction. This intern will also set-up and put together
presentations to local college groups about the Council and what it
does.

|
Administrative |
|
Assist in the day-to-day running of
the Council office. General office competency is a must, including
receptionist skills. Duties may include sending and keeping track
invitation letters to potential speakers, transcribing recorded
speeches, and preparing photo albums and folios for members of our
International Circle and Board of Directors. At events, this intern will
assist in running the VIP reception and photo opportunities of our
members.

Public
Relations Assistant |
|
Duties will include researching information about our
speakers and their topics for press and student packs, upkeep of media
contact databases, and editing transcripts of recorded speeches for our
publications. At events this intern will assist in setting up the
Council’s banners, membership table and audio needs, as well as
escorting attending media.

|
Development Assistant |
|
Work on projects and
assignments related to International Circle members – the Council’s
highest level of membership. Must have an exceptional
phone manner. This intern will assist in managing files of IC and Board
members and may also assist in creating proposals for financial
assistance from corporations. At events this intern may aid in the VIP
Reception admittance as well as the seating of this membership to their
assigned seating.

Finance Assistant |
|
Bookkeeping;
such as general ledger and spreadsheets. A basic knowledge of
accounting skills is preferred. Computer Literacy is a must,
proficient in Word and Excel, Access a plus. Student with
Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or Computer Science majors can
gain valuable practical experience. At events they will work at
the ticket desk. |
